Moderator : Sauraveswar Sen

Founder and Chief Mentor, Catalyst Learning Services, India

With a decade of experience in training students for competitive entrances, Sauraveswar established Catalyst in 2011 by switching gears from working as a Design Engineer with Mettler Toledo Inc. to what he was most passionate about – teaching. At 23, he was the youngest trainer delivering sessions at nationally reputed training institutes for GRE, GMAT, IELTS, CLAT & CAT. Sauraveswar was quick to identify the non-participation of Humanities/PureArts students as well as a lacuna with the application of the tenets of social science in professional core opportunities and he envisaged Catalyst as a bridge to minimise the gap between the prospects in Science-Commerce to that of Humanities.

Till now, 1000+ students trained at Catalyst have been able to successfully craft a career as human service professionals and are working with multi-laterals like the UN, UNICEF, WHO, with Corporate Social Responsibility verticals, policy think tanks, national and international grass-root level organisations and social enterprises after successfully qualifying for the entrance tests and interviews of Bachelors-Masters-MPhil-PhD-Fellowship opportunities  at the leading institutions of social sciences in India and Abroad. In 2018, Sauraveswar was empanelled with Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad Campus for Capacity Building Training for Campus Placements and then in 2021 with the TISS Guwahati Campus.   Sauraveswar and also contributes career related articles to ‘Prastuti’ of Anandabazar Patrika, ‘The Telegraph’, ‘Times of India’ ‘Femina’, ‘The Hindu’, ABP Education, NewsX, CNN-IBN. Sauraveswar was featured as a speaker by the International Women’s Day 2021 global platform for Catalyst’s contribution to   “Women creating impact by pursuing careers in social development”
