7 Full Length TISSNET MIRROR TESTS + 3 TISSMAT MIRROR TESTS

Sign up for the most effective online course for Tata Institute of Social Sciences’ National Entrance Test – the first level screening to the 52 coveted Masters programmes at South Asia’s oldest school of social work!

TISS has surprised all of us this year by disrupting the peace that surrounded it’s selection procedure especially in between the super rigorous CAT examination and the intellectually challenging XAT examination by constraining the importance of the TISSNET to only shortlisting to their Pre-Interview Test (PIT) and Personal Interview (PI) and introducing TISSMAT – TISS Management Aptitude Test to be administered to Human Resource Management (HRM) and Organisation, Development, Change and Leadership (ODCL) applicants right after they finish taking the TISSNET. TISSNET score will be considered in case of a tie of PIT-PI scores between two or more candidates.

TISSNET Pattern and syllabi remain the same as the previous years while TISSMAT is an additional test of 15 Reading Comprehension Skill questions pertaining to business literature (expected to be a little elevated level of complexity than that in the TISSNET), 15 Data Interpretation Questions and 15 General Awareness questions focused on business, economics, human resource management, labour issues et al (Source: TISS official admission site)

However, the broader challenge that TISS has introduced is to set a cut off qualifying percentage of 35% in the General Awareness Section i.e. a minimum score of 14 out of 40 for an applicant applying to any stream to be considered eligible for the PIT – PI. Effectively if I score 30 out of 30 in each of the Mathematics-Logical Reasoning as well as the English Proficiency sections but score 13 out of 40 in the General Awareness section, I will be considered not qualified for any stream even with a TISSNET score of 63 !

Sauraveswar Sen (Chief Mentor & Founder, Catalyst, Niti Vichaar) : With a decade of experience in training students for competitive entrances, Sauraveswar established Catalyst in 2011 by switching gears from working as a Design Engineer with Mettler Toledo Inc. to what he was most passionate about – teaching. At 23, he was the youngest trainer delivering sessions at nationally reputed training institutes for GRE, GMAT, IELTS, CLAT & CAT.  Sauraveswar was quick to identify the non-participation of Humanities/PureArts students in professional core opportunities and he envisaged Catalyst as a bridge to minimise the gap between the prospects in Science-Commerce to that of Humanities. Till now, over 400 students trained at Catalyst have been able to successfully craft a career as human service professionals and are working with multi-laterals like the UN, UNICEF, WHO, with Corporate Social Responsibility verticals, policy think tanks, national and international grass-root level organisations and social enterprises after successfully qualifying for the entrance tests and interviews of Bachelors and Masters courses at the leading institutions of social sciences in India and Abroad. In 2018, Sauraveswar was empaneled with Tata Institute of Social Sciences for Campus Placement Training.
