Dr. Shourjya Deb from the Catalyst Class of 2013 will interact with social science aspirants, enthusiasts, development professionals, budding social entrepreneurs on essential skills required to thrive in the development sector.
Dr. Deb has a Phd and Masters degree in Public Affairs from Rutgers University, New Jersey. He pursued Masters in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and a Bachelors degree in Arts with Comparative Literature at Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He is working as a Researcher for Sahel and West Africa Programme of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
Dr. Shourjya Deb has extensive experience with the social development sector in India, USA, and Africa. He has mitigated social problems concerning clean drinking water supply, establishment of public toilets, participatory budgeting in slums, community organisation and development, rehabilitation of children, econometric modelling on education, along-with delivering teaching and training modules on Planning Markets, Community Development, Quantitative Methods, Data Management, Weather and Well-being.
