“The course is structured in a way throughout 4 semesters where a foundation of Social Work is built and then we proceed towards learning and approaching HR. The curriculum of first semester consists various aspects of social work- base, practical application. The university places students in different NGOs so that they have a real-time experience in the field. We have to execute case work, group work and organisation in the community where our NGO is working. After the foundation of Social Work in the first semester, the last three semester concentrate on HR subjects with one or two Social Work papers. There are compulsory internships in each semester. Thus, there is a constant movement from theory to practical (between classes and internships). Internships can be done in corporate, public sector organizations or in NGOs for the role of HR or CSR. Faculty encourages us to find opportunities and then guide us to choose one that would give us effective learning and exposure.”
“Christ has a great, green campus. It is the most beautiful when it rains. Canteens are spread throughout the campus. All year there are fests and events to keep you busy and entertained. Christ encourages co curriculum activities (sports, theatre, dance) that has additional credits other than studies. Apart from that, everyone is part of a subject called holistic education that is compulsory and carries marks as well. It helps in an overall development of personality.”
“The central library at CHRIST is huge and is spread over 5-6 floors with rich resources. Books and other sources are available online in the knimbus resource ( online library) as well.”
“This course was actually introduced to me by Sauraveswar Sir while he was counseling us about different social science courses. I had told him that I had interest interest in HR. I come from a sociology background at my bachelors level and he encouraged me to pursue this course. He helped me prepare for the selection rounds and I could clear the cut-offs for admission”
“Catalyst has been the motivator to push us beyond our limits. It has exposed us to emerging opportunities from the domain of Social Sciences. And we have the freedom to make our choice from the variety of options. I am halfway into my course, and I genuinely love studying my subjects which I am pretty sure wouldn’t be so if I took up a MBA in HR.”
