Sanra was mentored at Catalyst for a career in social sector – climate action while she was pursuing Bachelors in Political Science at Loreto College, Kolkata .
The Beginning of Sanra’s Journey
Sanra’s journey with Catalyst began during her undergraduate studies at Loreto College, Kolkata. Mentored by Sauraveswar Sen, the visionary founder of Catalyst, she was introduced to the potential of a career in the social development sector. Under his guidance, Sanra developed a passion for empowering communities and sustainable development, setting her on a path to make a significant impact.
Making a Difference with WomenWeave
Two and a half years ago, Sanra embarked on her professional journey with WomenWeave Charitable Trust as the program coordinator for The Handloom School. In this role, she was dedicated to empowering young handloom weavers and unskilled women through training programs aimed at creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. Working in a rural setting, Sanra found the experience both humbling and inspiring, reinforcing her commitment to a career path that serves her vision of working “For the People and With the People.”
Transitioning to Chief Operating Officer
Sanra’s dedication and hard work have now led to her new role as Chief Operating Officer for both WomenWeave Charitable Trust and REHWA Society. These esteemed initiatives, founded by the Holkar family of Central India, are dedicated to empowering local and national artisans in the handloom sector. As COO, Sanra will lead an expanded and diverse team, furthering the mission of these organizations and continuing her journey of making a meaningful impact.
